Photographer : mark@mrdgallery.co.uk Agent Annette Strauch, M.A. is a European Ethnologist / Cultural Anthropologist, and has a Masters degree in English Literature and Mediaeval Studies from the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. She studied under Professor Rolf Wilhelm Brednich who works now in Wellington, NZ, and Profs. Schabram, Noll- Wiemann (Jane Austen) and Kullmann (Shakespeare). Her discipline involves cultural research and is closely related to history, linguistics, literary studies, history of art, social anthropology, incl. visual anthropology, religion and more. It aims to investigate the forms of life in Europe in the past and present. Research on "The Owl and the Nightingale", Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Piers Plowman, The General Prologue of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde and poems from the Harley-lyrics. She has been working in Libraries, Archives and Museums, also for newspapers and magazines in Germany and Great Britain. She has stayed with the community of the New Hutterian Brethren - who are similiar to the Amish - in Robertsbridge near Kent twice to study the life on a Bruderhof. She is interested in art, exercising, wellness, travelling and making friendly and honest contacts. In Wales, people such as S. Minwel Tibbott, Cynwil Williams and Gwen Jones have inspired her. At the moment she is doing research into the back and the spine in the context of European Ethnology. |
